His work draws on landscape, river culture, rural life and cultural memory, translating lived experience into layered colour, assertive contour, fragmented forms and symbolic imagery. Working primarily in watercolour on paper and acrylic on canvas, he has participated in exhibitions, art fairs, collaborative projects and art camps across Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Mexico.

Md Mijahur Rahaman has taken part in cultural activities connected with Mangal Shobhajatra, the Bengali New Year procession rooted in the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka — a tradition recognised on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
